I'm afraid you're right; it is pure thoughtlessness rather than a deliberate attempt to spoil it for others however. People don't think of others who not only may not wish to stand, but may have great difficulty in standing. We all stand up when a goal is scored but in the all seater stadiums there's no excuse for standing at other times.

Second half an absolute non-event as far as I am concerned, Newcastle completely owned us and it was bordering on child abuse. However, there are positives to be taken away - I met Mick Gooding and had a right old smash up in Newcastle last night.

I don't think we did anything wrong, as such. We were just outclassed. The first 2 goals were quality crosses and relatively simple headers, and the penalty was obviously a mistake, he used his arms to get height and misjudged the ball - which brings me on to my next point.

Clearly a lot of talent on show in our starting line-up. None of the players looked to be having too much of a problem, but the inexperience mattered, especially in such a huge stadium, and against a team which was choc-a-bloc with premier league players. The penalty, the second goal, the occasional hoof, it all came down to inexperience and the substitution of Hunt and Harper came too late, in my opinion. The experience could do nothing to salvage the game.

On a brighter note, Rosenior improved massively and was our MOTM for me. Cisse and Pearce didn't look too troubled, despite what the Sky commentator's said. Karacan and Tabb got the work in and Davies made a few fantastic (yet unnoticed) runs forward. Long worked the whole 90 minutes and looked a lot better than I've seen in the past - much more bulked up and not easily thrown off the ball. Touch seems to have improved, too. Kebe and Church hardly got a sniff of the ball and when they did, a) Kebe cocked it up or b) Enrique and Jonas trampled on Church.

I'll say again what I said last week - we missed Marek. His vision and (inconsistently) fantastic passes would have caused Newcastle problems, especially with Long and Church charging onto the ball. I just hope we sign a new forward (or 2) with some experience who can help the youngstars.

RATINGS:
Federici - 5 - Average game, could do nothing to stop any of the goals.
Rosenior - 8 MOTM - Stand out performer, IMO. Fantastic defending and really tried to charge forward when the opportunity arose.
Cisse - 7 - Assured at the back, not many problems.
Pearce - 6 - Inexperience showed for the second goal. Nothing majorly wrong.
Bertrand - 7 - Wonderful. If we had some experienced strikers that cross straight after goal #1 may have gone in.
Davies - 6 - Good runs forward, a few nice passes but nothing compared to last weeks performance.
Karacan - 7 - All work. Saved us a few times, distribution could have been better.
Tabb - 8 - All work. Fantastic in midfield. I didn't notice him last week but this week I saw 'im.
Church - 5 - Unnoticable, really.
Kebe - 5 - Donkey. On ice.
Long - 6 - Decent performance, living off scraps. Disappointing hand-ball.
