Terminal Boardom Church gets a second yellow for celebrating with the fans and NOT for taking off his shirt. Stupid rule!

Yeah, rule being the operative word. So who's stupid?

No, its not a rule at all. You can ABSOLUTELY celebrate with your own fans. So quite why the ref booked him when he didn't take off his shirt or jump into the stand is laughable. Should appeal.

Can't appeal a second yellow.!!!

Royal Rother Disappointed that Church has just placed himself in the same intellectual bracket as Leroy Lita.

Have you seen the celebration?

Nope, just assumed initial reports on here were accurate.

Haven't got the commentary on - if it was incorrect application of the rules could we appeal? (Not a straight red so I assume not.)

Edit: already semi-covered....

I would agree with you but I'm sure there's actual rules in place to stop repetitive or frivolous appeals. Someone got his ban extended under it this season or last.

If Church didn't go into the crowd, then the ref's made a mistake and I think a club can point this out - but that will just lead to censure to the ref.

If he did go into the crowd, then he deserves that second yellow.

Anyway.

1-1 - better than I thought it would be. Thank god for that.

Sorry bluenose but I don't think you are quite right. Remember Sidders when he equalised against Boro in our first game in the Prem? H ran to the front of the stand and got too close to the fans. Referee apologised for booking him so it would seem to be the arsewipes who make the rules rather than those who enforce them.

sandman And a championship referee once again proves they are all clueless tw@ts.

why?

They have to abide by the rules despite whether the agree with it or not. Church is a complete idiot and as others have said be should be bollocked internally too.

He didn't break the rule because he didn't go over the advertising hording.

Championship refs = clueless tw@ts

You lot wanna check the laws

He didn't take his shirt off and he jump into the stand, both of which are against the rules, according to both BBCRB presenters. Those rules are awful as it is, put in place by a clueless governing body, but ignoring those for a minute - booking him for running over to his own fans? Please, awful refereeing and there should be a complaints process for incompetent ref's. Celebrating with your own fans is not against the rules. Simple.

You are one of the poorest and more irrelevant posters on the forum, so really don't value your opinion at all.

Church is clearly clueless for getting booked while not on the pitch in the first place. If I was a ref I'd look for any opportunity following that to send him off. Bet he was offside a lot too.

Did Church do the same? According to the radio he did not even go past the perimeter advertising. Stupid ref.

I dunno - but you definitely remembered wrong about Sidders on that 'Boro game.

Refs get into trouble if they don't do it, so they don't miss it.

By the account on BBCRB every player went to celebrate with him why didn't the ref book all of them?
