Reserves v Saints won 3-2 Bignall hat trick

by shaka's shorts » 18 Jan 2010 18:10

OS says we won 3-2 with a Bignall hat trick. Interesting team. Impossible to work out formation from the randon list on the OS. Here is my interpretation / best guess. Pretty attacking team and Henry and Bignall obviously now fit...

Hamer
Cummings
Isaac (who is he?) LB?
Pearce
McDonald

HRK (LM?)
Henry (CM?)
Taylor (CM?)
Bell-Baggie (RM?)

Bignall
Vasilev

4-5-1 I think, but all that 5 are attacking midfielders.

When's this Vasilev going to get good then? Heard rave reviews a year or so ago and nothing since!

He has been very poor every time I have seen him in youth and reserve games. Bignall and Bell-Baggie are much better IMO.

I think Bignall should be given a chance for the Burnley game, at least on the bench if not a starting place.

Absolutely zero chance of that happening now we have Thor.

We are going to need a reserve manager soon, assuming Dolan is standing in from the academy until mcD gets the job - Graeme Murty for the job?

Agreed, he was a big disappointment the 2 or 3 times i saw him play

Dont think the results or goals mean much when playing for the ressies but sure some will wet themselves on here about Bigs notching a hattrick

I don't think reserve team manager is actually a full time job, McDermott combined it with scouting both players an upcoming opposition.

I've no idea.

I gained the impression, over the last couple of seasons, that he was lining himself up a media career - a couple of appearances on MoTD, summarising on 5 Live when he was injured or Reading were playing midweek - but he seems to have disappeared this season.

Wasn't he on that new show last night? They said he was going to be on it at some stage anyway...

Isaac is the default left back, much like McDonald is at centre back, except Isaac actually has some footballing ability.

I'd go for this midfield/attack:

ABB---Henry----Taylor----HRK
----------Vasilev---Bignall-----
However, I imagine it would be pretty fluid, all four "midfielders" can play on the wing and only Taylor is noted for ability to play in the centre.
