colours to the mast NOW

by LUX » 26 Jan 2010 11:32

We are 4 points adrift of safety, could be more after tonight/tomorrow. Plymouth could well overtake us and still have a game in hand.

But we are playing well in the Cup and people can see progress.

Will we stay up? Yes or no?

I'm an RTG, but one who's "seen it all before". I'm bricking it

Be interesting come May to see who was right.

Yes, I believe we'll stay up. Otherwise what's the point in supporting them if you don't have any faith?

I think we've got enough to stay up

If we don't manage it, it's not the end of the world

If they pull their finger out and get some results at home, then yes. If the current home form continues, then we won't get enough away points to stay up.

i believe that the way things turned out for Leeds, Southampton and Leicester in recent seasons (very much like us since relegation), and also the way things have gone for us in past seasons when we've had a good cup run, i think we are nailed on to go down.

Yes.

With Rodgers I didn't know if the players were good enough.
With McDermott I now know that they are.

Too much damage has been done. On top of that, we are too reliant on too many players staying fit / not getting suspended. We need a run of successive wins not unlike 85/86 to save us. We are not scoring enough so for me, we are going down.

I tend to agree and have resigned myself to the fact League 1 here we come, to much water has passed through gate, im not that peeded off i saw this coming ages ago, but im a real Reading fan i love the ups and downs, you have no right to cheer if you cant take the losses

I think we'll go down, in nail-biting fashion.

I honestly think it's too early and too close to call. There are simply too many variables.

But as an eternal optimist I'll vote with what I want to happen and think could happen.

Stay up. :|

I've gone for the reverse psychology option and voted no in the hope that this will mean we'll stay up.

still no sign we can reliably convert chances

Although fantastic, our FA cup journey has seen us dominate games but draw, win after a penalty in injury time and a goal with 4mins to go.

if we can't score goals we won't win enough games

that needs to change or we will go down

Realistically I think it's too early to say with any real confidence.

6 weeks ago I'd have said we'll stay up. Now I'd probably say we have a 60% chance of going down but that 40% isn't unachievable by any means.

Plenty of twist and turns to come, but it's not looking great, and I'm not sure we've done the most we could (yet) to give ourselves the best chance of staying up. It feels a lot more like a relegation season now than anything else though.
