What is the best goal you have ever seen us concede?

After the thread about the most iconic rfc photo and the photo of friday scoring that wonder goal against Tranmere, it made me think...

What is the best goal you have seen us concede?

I always shut my eyes when it looks like we might be about to concede a goal.

Arsenal's first goal against us in 2006, in the 4-0 at the Mad Stad.

Bentley for Blackburn when they beat us that season was pretty special

I thought their 3rd was better. Tbf they were just awesome that day full stop. Nobody could have stopped them, and all 4 goals are worthy of mention on this thread.

Even the penalty?

They were a bit good that day though.

Imre Varadi scoring for Sheff Weds at Hillsborough in the late 70s/very early 80s. Outside the box facing away from the goal he took the ball out of the air and lashed it into the furthest corner.

Oddly enough, I only wrote about this for a Sheff Weds fansite last week!

One that stands out for me is when we beat Ipswich 3-1 in Oct 2003 (Fozzy hat trick game). Darren Ambrose scored a free kick that went in off the bar.

Either of Burnley's two goals in the play off second leg could fall into this category. Both a bit special.

Yeah good shouts. Wasn't fussed on that first Arsenal goal (a cut back a side foot - Harper bottled tracking Fabregas IIRC)

That Ambrose free-kick was spot on for sure. Strangely enough I don't really remember many - Colin Kazim-Richards powered in a scorcher for Brighton when we beat them 5-1, some distance out when he hit that

As mentioned before Bentley for Blackburn and Paterson for Burnley.

One other I can think of is Fabrice Fernandes scoring from more or less the half way line in a pre season friendly for Southampton. Hahnemann was so miffed afterwards he belted the ball in the air and it hit the roof of the stand!

Kazim-Kazim got a lot of applause for that goal....it was a great strike! Could I venture the Stephen Ireland winner away to Man City in 2007....Or Byfield's rocket in the 01 Play-Off final...The 3rd Arsenal goal in the 4-0 thumping is a good shout. What about the second goal in the CCup fixture at Highbury? That was when Reyes rolled the defender and layed it off to Van Persie in one movement and Robin banged it home.

Was it the third that Reading fans (myself included  ) applauded?

I still have absolutely no idea how they scored that - the ball moved impossibly fast between them.

Alex Mathie for York in the FA cup to level up at 2-2 after we had been 2-0 up.

Stephen Ireland, the last minute volley which landed in the top corner in the last minute.

Plymouths Jamie Mackie against us last season which flew into the top corner.

I always thought Etheringtons first goal against us in the relegation season was pretty good build up play and finish.

I remember recalling a Preston player (can't remember who) scoring with a great shot when we beat them at home 5-1. Anyone else recall it? Think it was in the 2002/3 season, nearly all of the reading fans applauded it.
