Hugo Boss I remember getting mullered by Genoa on a rainy day at EP after we'd just been promoted. Got given Shaka's gloves. 8)

That game is featured (a bit) on the Year Of The Royals video with Chris Maughan presenting from an empty Town End. The open top bus parade was held after that with, maybe 4000 people in attendance. Remember the bus going down Occie Road with lots of very confused shoppers watching on.

Tom Jones scored quite a good goal. McGhee came on a bit. Marco Nappi ran past three defenders with the ball on his head and also kissed a girl in the Tilehurst End after scoring a goal.

Dies of AIDS four years later.

I meant junkies and prossies.

handbags_harris Bit of a geek thread alert

Many Nobbers are aware of the face that I have a continuing spreadsheet detailing all of the first team matches that I have attended and up until now I haven't had a pre-season friendly page. Spending a quiet Saturday night attempting to detail the pre-season friendlies I've attended, I'm struggling to find any detail of pre-season fixtures, particularly the earlier ones I attended (ie 1992 onwards). Anyone able to recall any friendlies they attended and the scorers? Any help appreciated.

Very rock'n'roll bet your parties are a right laugh.

"Royal Lady attended that end of season fixture against an Italian side a few years back."
"Genoa?"
"Yeah, met her a few times. Nice lady."

No Fixed Abode Aldershot V Reading a few seasons back when Reading had that full back on trial that use to play for Man Utd.

It kicked off a bit in the ground with bricks being thrown. Also kicked off in one of the pubs nr the train station.

Thame Utd 0 Reading 6 late 70s. After match went into the bar. They had a stage and a big dance floor. All we had at the time was a small bae under the main stand.

Wimbledon 1 Reading 2 mid 70s. Friday taken off at half time, and came and stood with us at the covered end at Plough Lane. :D
