I might blog about the 4-2-3-1 / 4-4-2 debate at some point, because this is one of the main talking points between Royals fans.

As I see it, the combination of Kebe-Sigurdsson-McAnuff-Long/Church cannot be found in any other formation. In this formation, Kebe, McAnuff and Sigurdsson have the freedom to express themselves when attacking because they have the security of knowing that two of Tabb/Karacan/Howard/Gunnarsson are behind them. Essentially we are stronger going forward because we are playing 4-2-3-1.

On the other hand, 4-4-2 would allow the forwards to combine and us to get more men in the box, but it would leave us with only one defensive midfielder, not what we want with a defence that lacks pace.

Should be a good game, I look forward to following it.

Could be as much as a 4 figure attendance for this one then.

Surely we've got 700+ people sad enough to go to this haven't we?

I'm assuming KD will get a great reception from the Reading fans, and Marcus too if he puts in an appearance (which seems unlikely).

I read somewhere that SHunt will be with the squad but not playing due to his rehab. What sort of reception will he get I wonder? It's exactly a year since he was watching Reading friendlies from the sideline prior to joining the mighty Hull.

After our recent history with Wolves, I can't bring myself to go and watch Doyle play for them. Irrational I know but it just feels wrong.

Hope the boys stuff them and Doyler gets a rousing applause though.

Time to substitute Kebe or we will lose him before the end of August.

Full time

2 - 1 good workout and a well deserved win. Royals much the better team.
