A possible solution.

107FM keep live broadcast rights

BBC Berks buy delayed broadcast rights (for less), maybe a 5 or 10 minute delay in transmission would give those in 107FM coverage an incentive to listen to 107FM whilst those outside of coverage can listen to coverage.

107FM keep exclusivity
BBC Berks keep coverage
Reading FC keep 107FM cash, make a bit more from BBC Berks and keep fans in extended catchment area happy.

Surely it's not a question of whose voices we hear - it's how many people are able to hear those voices.

Well done STAR for making a stand on behalf of the fans. I've criticised in the past but this is the response I expect from the fans representative body.

On the general topic, BBC Berks will still be airing a Royals based sports program and giving regular updates alongside their previous build up and post match program. Therefore those outside, and inside for that matter, the 107 catchment will still have a RFC program to listen too.

It's a shame the club have once again dived after the quick buck. Am I imgaining it or did 107 desert RFC at the beginning of last season when they decided covering the royals wasn't really worth it.....

You're completely correct. The reason given at the time was that "they wanted to concentrate on being a music station."

Of course, in Febuary this year they started their coverage again.

Shame really, as I used to listen to it every week and all of a sudden - nothing.

Are there any smaller radio stations outside of 107FM territory that JM might consider selling the broadcast rights to (and making more money), assuming they are prepared to broadcast the commentry, which would depend on listeners.

If you're at the game, then you won't need to listen to the radio. So why protest about it at a game?

shadesrwrf RFC, you have a massive opportunity here to show that you are willing to listen and do care about your customers'* opinions. Don't let it slip through your fingers.

*they used to be known as fans.

This campaign so far has gone really well because the argument has been well constructed and put forward in a calm way.

That is the most powerful way of doing it. A few random's shouting pro bbcrb, or anti club slogans may make them feel good but aint going to help, instead may work against us.

One thing that made me lol though was the location from "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers"

Let's keep away from the mob mentality and we will keep club on side and get what we want.

Also, any more news on the fundraising idea to put some cash back into the club?
