BBC Berks Winners Enclosure

by Forbury Lion » 11 Jan 2007 15:46

I once won a double CD of the a decades worth of hits on a BBC Berks website competition.

Are there any other winners on the board?

PS - I once entered a BBC Stoke competition to win a copy of Championship manager but suspect they may have had rules in place to ensure the winners actually live in the area.

I've won various stuff off them - not least a digital radio and a couple of tickets to Newbury races.

I gave Maggie Philbin a bit of a squeeze so she gave me a BBC Berks pen to get rid of me.

Does that count?

I conned Reading 107 out of 107 Pounds by pretending that they had read my registration plate number out on air. All I had to do was identify the model of car and colour (which aint that hard if you know how)

Nothing wrong with a bit of fraud

I once won a Masters of the Universe Castle Greyskull in a colouring competition hosted by Beatties. I didn't want it, so I gave it to my little brother. Of course that was a couple of decades ago.

I won a BBC Berks Reading FC CD of the 01/02 season. Won a couple of things from the club, including a bike.

I won two tickets to PANTS day on the original (and local) Reading 107fm (not the imposters that we have now)

The answer was Emporer Rosko

and the tickets were well recieved by visiting relatives who boosted the crowd to over 6k

I was last year's Royals Masterbrain winner.

The prize was a wonderful picture of the Championship winning squad autographed by every player + staff, the only downer was meeting Kevin Dillon (who presented it to me) and finding out that he was a complete twat in real life.

I have high hopes of winning the RFC Quiz League that Dirk started about six years ago but is yet to draw to a conclusion.

I passed up the chance to see Reading stuff Bognor in the cup to go to a school fete and ended up winning a football signed by the squad. The signatures are a bit faded now but you can still make out Colin Duncan nice and clearly.

Never mind, a bit of bleach should clear that up nicely for you.

I was in the car park listening to BBC RB before the Burnley game on Tuesday night this week and I texted in the answer to that day's quiz question (what is the hardest European language to learn).

They phoned me up (gave me the shock of my life !) and as I was at the madstad Phil Kennedy spoke to me live on air about the game. I won some DVDs (straight out of the bargain bin at Woolies) - they came this morning.

Submit an on-line insurance quote for the plate. For most plates they will auto-complete the car details as these are all shared by the insurance companies.

Expect ten hobnobers to all claim the prize next time, none of them actually owning the car though.

Of course, the other way to find out who owns a car (say if it's someone you had a spot of road rage with and want to beat the crap out of them) is to make up a competition for the radio station you work for and announce their car reg live on air. They phone in and you send the heavies round

Spot on !

However this would require that you listen to 107FM. The 107 Pounds would then be considered dammages for crap you would have to listen to in order to catch the competition.
