2 Feb Friday Phone In Guests: HAMMOND and GUNNARSSON

by BBC Radio Berkshire » 01 Feb 2007 14:35

Dear All,

Ibrahima Sonko can't do tomorrow night, so instead we have Nicky Hammond and utility man Brynjar Gunnarsson on with Tim from 6pm.

Questions welcome.

You can also text on 07786 202 303 or phone 0845 900 1041 from 6 on Friday. :D

All the best

Joel

Edited by Ollie to reflect Nicky in for Brian... and correct Joel's spelling

Expect Tim to ask Brian and Brynnar the questions for Sonko by mistake

Brian - How much scouting was involved before the recent signings were made?

Brian - One part of Equador has apparantley produced more international footballers per square kilometer than anywhere else in the world, Do we have scouts out there and if not, Do you fancy it?

Brynnar - Was your father's last name Gunnar and if so, Are you kids named Gunarsonson?

Brian and Brynnar - handbags or bumbags?

That's not how it works.

Anway, Bryn, are you likely to want to stay here after this season or can you see your first team opportunities getting fewer and fewer. (You deserve to be playing first team football, probably in the Prem).

Bryn - in order to teach Forbury Lion not to talk ballcocks, can you confirm that your dad was called Gunnar and your sons (if you have any) will have Brynnarsson as their surname? And if you have daughters are they called Brynnasdottir or do they take the name of your wife's first name?

Cheers

I was setting him up to explain it all by feigning ignorance.

Brynnar,

As Reading's so called 'utility man' would you be able to have a quiet word with Transco and do something about the wholesale price of gas.

Cheers then

Brynnar,

As Reading's so called 'utility man' would you be able to have a quiet word with Thames Water and do something to prevent the recent drought from happenning again?

Cheers then

Brynjar,

What do you think of second rate radio presenters who can't spell your name properly causing valued listeners to spend 40 minutes on a blinding question, only to find that out that it doesn't bloody work?

Cheers then

Brian,
I bet your wife never lets you tidy up her fanny hair as remarkably, an anagram of your name is:

BAD C*NT TRIMMER

Cheers then

Brian, You travel around the world to football tournaments at considerable expense to Reading F.C., staying at some of the finest hotels and enjoying a lifestyle some of us can only dream of. You have been known to say "Basically, if someone has a good tournament we won't get him, and if someone doesn't do well then we won't want him!". The question - why do you do it?

Brynjar,

Don't let Brian trim your wife's minge.

Cheers then

Brian,

Doyle famously arrived after a tip-off between the Dolan brothers.

Which of the team can you claim an exclusive 'find' on?

Hyundai Coupe

Bryn

Do people in Iceland get confused over who they're actually related to?

BRIAN

How wide reaching is Reading's scouting network now and what was it like when you first joined the club?

What's the furthest 'mission' you've ever been on to check a player?

How does scouting work, do you wait for a lead from one of the scouting chaps and then go and watch or do you just blindly go to games to see if any one catches the eye or does SC produce a raft of names that he wants looked at.

What's the quickest turnround to sign someone from the first 'viewing' and in general what the average length of time it takes to assess that a player is good enough to sign.

When you scout a player how do you assess them. Do your eyes never leave them throughout a game?

Have you ever gone to watch one player and come away raving about another.

Is part of your job to scout Reading's next opponents or does that job usually fall elsewhere.

Are you related to Terry?
