Park and ride

by PEARCEY » 28 Sep 2008 15:07

Can anyone tell me if this is any good.
I usually park at the clubs park and walk carpark. However my 80 year old dad comes to the games with me these days and my little boy but really finds the walk back to the carpark hard going.
Is the park and ride a regular service? Does it get really busy? What is the cost?
Any advice would be really appreciated.

Why people can't just look things up for themselves I don't know!

Thanks Squelchy. I found the info in yesterdays match programme after I posted. Still dont know how busy this service gets which is one of the reasons why I posted on here.

This doesn't tell you about the quality of the service or where it leaves from. All he wanted was advice from people who have used it.

first bus is about 2 hours before kick off, buses every 10 or 15 minute s to the ground

coming back ther is sometimes a queue but the last couple of games is been straight forward, more or less walked onto a bus

I try to park at Costco for Saturday games but always use the P&R for midweek. It was a bit hit and miss last year with the slightly larger crowds but this year it seems ok (or it was for the Sheff Wed game anyway).

I use this service if i cant get a train down.

I find it quality. Would highly recommend it. RFC should be applauded for working with the council on this one. Great idea.

My dad used it a few times, for him, being 78 the walk to the bus stop down the hill was very tiring, not sure if possible, but it would be handy if the second or third run of the buses were able to pick up from the car park, assuming traffic is clear by then,.
