Percy's Rocket Good article in the Sunday Times today about how the style of rugby union has changed since they effectively did away with the ruck. Forwards now spread out across the pitch so teams no longer attack the wings but try to torpedo their way through the middle of a defence with wave upon wave of direct runs. It says this leaves the wide areas of top rugby grounds pristine while the middle gets churned up.....and guess who the article names as one of the prime movers in this style of play in this country...you guessed it...
No wonder our pitch gets ruined...Let us hope it is not such a problem this season.
As there isn't much football being played on it in the 2009/10 season I don't think this really matters

I see that the autorities at Wembley have invited the dreadful crap that is American Football over to wreck their pitch as well this weekend. Thank god England don't have any more qualifiers to play....

Another pointless game of rugby at our stadium today directly after a football match. Thought they were supposed to be putting a stop to this?
The pitch was cutting up yesterday and already shows signs of fatigue so god knows what it looks like now.

The pitch is now bolloxed for the rest of the season. Even BR was bitching about if after the match today, saying the "rugby affect has kicked in". Why oh why do we do it to ourselves? (rhetorical question btw

Anyone who couldn't see the ball bobbling all over the place yesterday when players tried to pass along the ground really needs to get their eyes tested!

SCIAG Cracking game today, loads of action, great atmosphere.
