royalexile Yeah i have been known to cram a ciggie in, rush up to the Jazz, quick pint, piss and back for the second half. It's almost a refined art.

Royal Lady To be honest - who has a Xmas party on a Saturday afternoon?
If I had been booking it and the Hotel advised me that there was also a home match on that day - I'd probably change the date or move the time to a bit later so as to avoid the riff raff in any case.

Royal With Cheeseroyalexile Planning and timing.
So the club should ask to move all fixtures that clash with Hotel Xmas parties?
Simple economics. The Hotel is a separate entity and have to get maximum occupancy and maximize revenue streams. Having a christmas party will generate far more money than matchday bar receipts on a game. It's frankly rediculous that anyone should suggest that the hotel shouldn't hold christmas parties on matchdays.
I can't even believe people are arguing over this.

Team Burbs - Always on the same day as the last home game of the season and usually kicks off around 9am in the Monks.

TheMaraudingDog I know of at least 40 people who usually have 6 pints + food before each game, following the Leeds game they're now taking their custom elsewhere, I'm sure there must be others dong the same. Seems like for some reason JM was happy to take a few quick quid instead of keeping long term customers happy so he can expect the hotels takings to be down moving forward.
