loyalist club

by harryroyal » 07 Feb 2013 20:26

Stumbled across a celtic forum and someone on there had us down as a loyalist/protestant club. Anyone have any insight on this?

We're not anything.

We realise that it's 2013 and not 1690.

I think this is an apolitical club, which is nice.

If it is loyalist then I'm screwed as I'm also a left-leaning irish celtic fan (no lie)

Surely we are just a kebeist club! Nothing else matters.

Although I quite like the idea of being a "Roundheads" club and going around knocking the heads off statues at opposing grounds. Sounds like fun!

Agreed. I also stopped believing in fiction and grew out of imaginary friends when I was 5 years old.

Fcuk off Celtic!

They probably got confused by the 'Royals' nickname and took it for genuine support for the British monarchy, rather then the plastic b*llocks it actually is....

Absolute cobblers. As you say I think this conclusion has been arrived at because of our nickname, colours..royal blue hoops, and the crown on the latest incarnation of the badge.

I wouldn't say there are any leanings either way and Reading as a place has a long standing Irish ex pat community.

We can live without the bigotry here would be my guess.

We're not Protestant or Catholic - everyone is welcome, as long as they're middle class of course

Brilliant stuff. Any chance of a link to the Celtic forum? They think all kinds of people are "Loyalists"
