And even then there is a difference between having them for sale and actually being able to send them out straight away. Better (but more work to find out) would be how many clubs have them to buy off the peg in their club shop…

It's quite a clash between the hoops and the climate change stripes

New home kit launched (via Reading FC app).

Has Universit of Reading climate change multicoloured small hooped arms, similar pattern on the shorts. (you may have seen this design on a bus recently)
Rest of the shirt looks good, blue and white hooped body, traditional red/blue/white badge and the SCL logo the same as last season blending into the hoops in white and black.

My initial opinion is I hate it and wish it had just regular standard blue or white sleeves, then I would definitely buy it after skipping last season due to the gold badge not being to my liking.

Hope the away kit isn't full climate change hoop colours!

Didn’t realise the sleeves were a climate change awareness thing

Fine, but does that mean they’ll actually make some other changes - ie no manly beef burgers for sale, single use plastics etc? Suspect not

Even without the stripes it's a pretty poor effort. That collar looks shite.

Anyone good at sewing? - Maybe unpick the arms and sew on some generic Macron football shirt blue arms instead?

Imagine what the long sleeved version will look like? - My guess is the pattern won't carry down past the elbow so it will just be white or blue.

Could they not have done this shirt and a regular shirt and allowed us customers to buy the one we like? - probably make more profit on a regular one as it must be fiddly and therefore expensive to make all those coloured hoops

Maybe they should have left the shirt alone and just gone full climate change on the shorts, It's not as if many people buy them and those that do probably have some white ones spare already if they don't like them.... or just the away shirt?

When it comes to replica kits, Reading FC seem determined not to give me something I want to buy.

A lot of pressure on the away kit. I reckon a kit purely made up of those stripes would have been pretty nice.

Its different, its quirky, interesting message, no complaints from me.

But, i think the positive message its attempting to spread would of been more suited to the away kit and 3rd kit and perhaps leave the home when to the traditionalists.

But, wait is over, we can move on.

The message on climate change fits really nicely with a shirt and stadium sponsor dedicated to selling new cars.
