murts_the_god i spoke to a guy in the megastore who said that they have seen the new kits and that they are coming out early july time but he refused to say what the design of them were

Yes, there is always somebody from the shop who claims to have seen the shirt long before it is actually shown on the club site. Look at me, look at me!

I used to date one of the spice girls, but I refuse to tell you which one it was.

Was it Old Spice?

If anyone is ashamed to name which spice girl they use to go out with, then it has to be Geri!

Geri was alright. A little loud I guess, but alright. Sporty was the one you'd be embarrassed about. Although I never said I wasn't naming which one because I was embarrassed or ashamed.

Man in Megastore yesterday say new kit available from late July/early August if all goes according to plan.

Additionally hopeful that the website will reveal all in about 2/3 weeks.

Why are the club so slow in getting the new kit out? Small time club IMO.

IMO?
Why say it if it wasn't your opinion?

It does surprise me how the club always seems to struggle to get the new shirts on sale before the start of the season. It's not as though the start of the season changes much (well not more than a week anyway! ). What's more they seem to change the design of the shirt more frequently than the start of the season changes!

I would have thought it might have been a good idea to have had them on sale earlier so that they might catch people who turn up over the summer to buy season tickets (some are bound to think 'in for a penny, in for a pound') and those who fancy having the new design to wear on their summer holiday for example.

This isn’t rocket science. The club’s sponsorship deal with Kyocera ran out at the end of last season. We got relegated. The signs were that Kyocera probably weren’t interested in renewing, no matter which league we were in. Companies that were interested in us as a Premier League club, will not see the same exposure in the Championship, and thus are not as keen. The club will be looking to get the best deal possible, in tough market conditions. The shirt will have been designed months ago. You can’t release a new kit, without a sponsor.

There’s rumours that a sponsorship deal is close to being signed. I’m sure both parties will be keen to announce this as soon as possible. There may have to be alterations to the kit design to accommodate the sponsor. Once all that has happened, then the kits will be launched. Late July/early August seems entirely plausible, for those desperate to wear the new shirt. Not perfect, but entirely understandable.

And the reason/excuse for every other season that they've struggled to get it out on time?

RoyalBlue And the reason/excuse for every other season that they've struggled to get it out on time?

Pretty sure last season the new black/grey Away Kit was available at the start of July well before the season started? Also pretty sure that the Red/Yellow Away Kit the season before was also available from a similar date (start of July) and the home shirt available at the start of August, again before the season started?

The season before that (championship winning season) the navy away shirt was also available before the season started (Tottenham friendly possibly?). Granted the home shirt wasnt released untill October that season but Westcoast pulling out/Kyocera coming in at the last minute was hardly the Clubs fault and 4/5 isn't bad anyway!

Just because nothing has been released or announced yet doesn't mean the shirt won't still be available at a similar time, start of July/August, assuming someone does decide they want to sponser us!

Keep the faith.

How did the change of sponsor delay anything if the navy away shirt came out before the season started (or didn't that shirt have the sponsor's name on it?!)?
