 To you too. Personally can't understand why he'd need more time, unless he has cash flow problems...

I was told the reason for a possible delay is tax related. Someone, I'm not sure who as there are a few people behind TSI, stands to make around £300,000 by waiting until the next tax quarter.

I guess it's stating the obvious that if someone is supposed to pay money by a certain date and asks for a delay it's most likely to be due to not having the cash to hand. Or it could be that the seller hasn't met their side of the bargain and the buyer is holding out until they do (like retaining some of the final payment on a house extension until the builder has completed the snagging)

But we have no idea whether there is a deadline, and whether it has been changed.

It could be as simple as the cash is coming from an investment that hasn't yet paid out - had a very similar situation on a house sale once where the purchaser had to delay the completion by a week because his money was coming from an endowment and he'd miscalculated when it would hit his bank.

Who knows, I suspect at some point in the future there will be a small announcement that the sale has completed.

Where have you been? Charles Watts spoke to SJM recently and he confirmed the date was for the end of September but could also move and both parties were happy with the arrangement.

Thanks hadn't seen that confirmed. In that case why are people still making a thing of it ?

Not sure it's in his job description that he has to attend games.

Ah of course not, sounds reasonable. So was he there on Saturday smiling and shaking hands with SJM? (sadly I was working so missed the game)

Because some people would like nothing better than the deal to collapse so they could say "I told you so"?

Depends if the "I told you so" was driven by their ego to be correct or a genuine concern for the well being of the club. I would like to believe it was the latter and if so should be applauded rather than condemned.

If all people are doing is raising concerns on HNA despite what evidence there may be pointing to there not being a problem I'm not sure why applause is needed.
If people were genuinely worried about the future of the club I'd hope they would find rather more effective ways of making those concerns widely known.
But of course we don;t know, and even if we did there is nothing we can do about it so it's all really just hot air....

My point was, probably naively, that if you shake hands on a deal and pay the first half when required, surely you pay the second half when required too. If he's not yet paid because he's having trouble finding £12.5 million, then I think it's fair some of us might worry. And yes, my only concern is for this club, not to score points over anyone and I am still far from convinced that TSI are good for this club. I sincerely hope my beliefs change soon, however.

Yes, but to assume he's not paid because he can't find the money is exactly that, a massive assumption...

There are dozens of reasons why the deal might have been delayed, as was pointed out above, tax can play a part, there could be some outstanding negotiation with SJM that hasn't quite been concluded. Heaven forbid Anton's missus, or the baby, could be unwell following the birth.

Unfortunately there are a minority who had a mistrust of TSI and Anton from day 1, who seem to continue to want yo leverage every opportunity to prove their point (when there isn't any actual evidence to back it up).

I wonder whether those who are questioning Anton's non-attendance at games have forgotten about the long period Madejski spent out of the country, and therefore not attending games, when he was seeking to minimise his tax liabilities. Personally I am more comfortable with the act of returning to one's native country following the birth of a child than that of absenting oneself from one's home country, in order to pay less tax (one appears to have swallowed a posh pill!).

Whilst I was not happy with the lack of signings in the second part of the last transfer window, I think the subsequent capture of Baird and Sharp suggests that Anton is still very much supporting the club and manager.

Anton's lack of appearances is most likely down to his visa, isn't it? He can only spend so much time over here, and he's just become a father. I wouldn't read too much into that.

I would imagine it is something like this.

Anton doesn't really have a tax presence in the country anyway, TSI is in gibralter
