Big FootSvlad Cjelli There are two types of bans - section 14 bans, which are legal bans and which apply to all designated grounds (tiers 1 to 5) and international matches - they include surrendering passports when England play abroad and so on. There are two types of such this sort of ban - section 14a (criminal) and section 14b (civil) but the effect is more or less the same. These are imposed by a court and are for a fixed duration - usually 3 years.
As I understand it, there are currently 16 Reading supporters with section 14 bans - 11 for home matches and 5 for away matches.
Also, as a private premises, the club has the legal right to ban anyone they want to for whatever reason, as long as it's not on discriminatory grounds (race, age, sex, colour, sexuality etc) - and they tend to impose such bans generally for small numbers of games, as "warnings". This is typically done for breaches of ground regulations but definitely not for criminal matters. Anything criminal gets a section 14 ban, not a club ban.
What about the club telling supporters they can't attend other football stadia without getting a section 14 ban in place?
Eh? Don't understand....
