Woodcote Royal More than 18,000 tickets sold for last Friday night's televised fixture despite the prevailing arctic conditions for those who preferred to watch live rather enjoy the comfort of their own homes.

Very worrying indeed :|

.....................and Skyline is now officially The Upper West's Super Lightweight :P

Just the 6,000 empty seats then, i'm sure 12,000 would have really added to the occassion.

Our lowest post christmas gate for a Championship game in 2005/2006 was in excess of 21,000.

It would certainly be very worrying if we'd just spent tens of millions on an extension. Fortunately, the decision makers at the club had the foresight not to.

Well, I've just been on the online ticketing and discovered that the Wolves game is apparently sold out. BUGGER.

This probably wouldn't be a problem if we had expanded the stadium. :x

Give it a few games and whole season should be for sale, watch the Brum game sell out on day one

Spacey, try contacting the TO in person - they will sell Y26 over the phone, so that area might not have sold out yet.

It takes a special type of person to consider an 18,000 gate a vindication of their position that the capacity should be expanded from 24,000 - emoticon or no emoticon.

Moving on to more realistic matters, were half season tickets on sale this year and, if so, does anyone have any idea what the take up rate was?

Anyone that reads HNA should know that they were indeed on sale, it was mentioned on here enough. I don't think that the amount sold was ever mentioned by the club tho.

I would expect all home games to go on sale soon, Brum will sell out very fast, and as availability lessens then hopefully we will get more full houses between now and the end of the season.

Two special offers advertised in tonight's post - £5 off all tickets for Preston and under 16's half price for Forest.

Good to see the marketing department working hard.

Should pay dividends next season although sadly we won't be in a position to take full advantage for a while.

The decision not to expand in the summer was understandable as a short term one but clearly given the expansion was only put on hold the club remain forward thinking and know that more seats are essential.

Agreed, it's good to see the marketing division trying to fill the ground.

However, I believe Bas Savage will play for Real Madrid before the club expands the stadium and quite right too as there, demonstrably, is not the demand.

Thankfully the powers that be had the foresight not to waste £15 million+ and, given the economic climate and the falling demand both locally and nationally, that decision looks better with every passing day.

We'll never agree, but you are clearly wrong about there 'demonstrably' not being the demand. You mean that 'in your opinion' there is not demand. Very different (I know you'll not see the difference... !)

As I said, the short term decision was spot on (although obviously it was not made on the grounds that certain posters based their arguements) but the project currently on hold will inevitably be brought to fruition and I look forward to Madrid's latest Galactico making his appearance !!

Much as I admire and appreciete what Madejski has done, I don't see how the club can go forward with him at the helm and would now like to see someone new who wants to move things forward.

Only someone who can't bring themselves to admit to the shortsightedness of the utter drivel they wrote after a certain match in Suffolk would also refuse to accept the possibility of our stadium looking smaller by the day given the likelihood of a swift return to the Premiership and 75% occupancy for a televised match versus 2nd tier relegation candidates when the temperature was somewhere south of -5C.

However, fear not, expansion is still on the agenda and I'm guessing this will mean re-location for at least one set of blinkers.........................

TBF, around 3000 of those were in the away end. However, set against that is the fact (confirmed by the club) that they count all STH as having attended, whether they actually did or not.

I don't really see what there is to "fear" even if it went ahead. It would just mean th football club I support has wasted £15million+, irritating? Yes, fear inducing? No. As it's clearly not on the agenda and is not going to happen your comments can be cheerfully filed in the irrelevent drawer....as per

One of the things I admire about Madejski is that he had the foresight to drop the expansion plans.

The other thread relates to the impact Maejski wanting to sell will have on the club going forward. If he didn't want to sell and was fully engaged, i'd love him to stay in perpetuity. As he isn't, it would be good for someone to come in and move things forward by investing on the pitch but I certainly wouldn't want a new owner throwing money at this white elephant.
