bigmike Everyone keeps going on about how we could have sold 5000+ I actually doubt that without the free transport issue this would be possible..

I personally think that we would have struggled to sell out a block of 5000

Why not?

6,000 on a Sunday to Wigan as a Division 1 club springs to mind.

Where have you been for the last 24 hours the 2,836 tickets RFC signed up for sold out in about 17 hours. Another 2,200 would have been snapped up in quick time as well. Thre are many fans who have been left disappointed.

Well, according to the club, they would have paid for transport for ALL supporters if we could have got more tickets! So we'd have sold the best part of 5k imo.

Yeah with the club paying for transport we could have sold close to the 5000. I do not think that we would have got anywhere near that without the transport being provided Possibly not even sell out the inital allocation..

When you factor in that it is a stupid time kick off and people would not get home much earlier if any than Everton. This was a major factor in me not actually getting tickets for man city as I didnt fancy getting back at 1:30 again and starting work at 7:00... For Everton I had to use 1.5 days holiday.

When the club mentioned that they were putting on busses I was tempted to go for a ticket as that would have taken away some of the tired driving. However I would still have to drive from the stadium back to West Berks at stupid o'clock in the morning.

Well, that's YOUR opinion bigmike - my opinion and that of a fair few others is that, with or without free transport, we would have sold around 5k. And, as has been pointed out ad nauseum, not selling a single ticket between 2,800 and 5,000 would hardly have been a big hit financially and worth the gamble when you consider a) the amount of revenue we're getting just from the City game and b) the bad feeling now created between the club and its customers.

I just can't see the free transport having a major effect on demand. A few hundred here and there maybe but I would guess that not even half the 2,800 will go up by free coach so how many of them are only using it because it's free Nd wouldn't have gone without it?

Where have I been ??? reading posts of people making up figures and making projections based on those made up figures ala Snowballs stats.

In the end of the day yes its a shame that not everyone is able to get a ticket in the away end and someone at the club may have made a mistake with the ammount of tickets however my point is would the club have sold that without making the gesture of paying for fans travel?? Maybe the club should not make a gesture like that again if all the thanks they get for it is some people on here saying that they hope that certain people at the club get mobbed when they turn up for work .

Get over it theres no tickets left in the away end

Eh?

Liverpool's further than Manchester and the City game kicks off 2 and three quarter hours earlier.

Given that by the time I got sorted out and in to my car it would be around 11:45 dropped a couple of people off on the way and then get back to my house it would be around 12:30 - 12:45 therefore not much earlier than I got back from Everton

Yeah. Next season we should make sure we only play home cup games or more local ones.

I've been to Darlington in the 80s on a coach where we had to meet up at about 6.30 in the morning and got home after midnight. Silly old loyal supporter that I was.

What are you on ???

what has that to do with the point that some people would have been put off by the fact that they would not get home untill midnight at best?

I can't remember - it was a long time ago!

I went somewhere when the coach had the window broken by Millwall fans or something and we stopped at some services and "fans" from about 3 other teams, I think Millwall, Chelsea, Pompey something like that ran riot and were running over tables and chairs in the eating areas and trying to kill each other!

I used to love my away days, me!
