From a nostalgic perspective, I am certainly sad to see the end of the EP. And whilst times move on - a paper anything becoming largely redundant and digitally replacable - I too, like other posters do feel for the older - non digital - generation who will suffer most from the withdrawal of an important connection and window to society.
I still much prefer to read a newspaper or book in the physical sense rather than 'virutally' but who knows, like the renaissance of the vinyl record, I hope this format will resurface and see the light of day again.
Trully a sad day. But economics being economics, if insufficent units are being sold then that's the game up. Just the way it is. Madjeski got caught cold with his investment in the printing industry a decade ago, so this should really come as no surprise. Likely this is a precursor to more local rags in other areas going the same way.
RIP The Evening Post. I especially take my hat off to The Hound, David Dibben and Steve Thompson. Trully great hacks. Less so to that total to$$er Fordham.
