Not a patch on getting all sorts thrown at you in that pen at Ninian Park.

The trip down there with the Coppell squad was good, when we won 5-2, en route to the Prem. You're right about that pen though Mr.S. Talk about old school arrangements, and then the joy of running the gauntlet afterwards.

You're not wrong. The trip down there in 2005 was smashing, a good few faces down there that day.

I remember going there for a FA Cup game. Late 90s I think. I'm sure Carl Asaba was playing. Anyway, standing on the terrace behind the goal these 3 young lads started talking to me and my mate in Welsh accents. Nice as anything they were and politely asked " Who are your boys. Who will be up for a ruck?" Eh......! 5 minutes later they were being carted off by the Police back into the home end to a hero's reception. We were a little bemused by it all to be honest. There was no roof on that end then. It always looked a more dangerous place when they put that roof on. Cardiff these days for me due to being there for stag parties, cricket tours and the Ashes this summer just doesn't hold any fear anymore. It's just a good place for a piss up!

The odd thing I recall about Ninian Park was the imaginary line they drew outside the bar area, two stewards stopped you taking beer outside it and stopping kids going in. They were quite happy for me to stand on one side of it with a beer and my son on the other side.
