Dirk Gently Don't forget that the Police don't have jurisdiction over standing.

Standing is the ground regulations, which the stewards are there to enforce. The Police can only get involved to assist a steward after someone has been offensive to a steward or others or has refused to obey a steward's orders.

That's all a technicality, of course - in reality it's not like that at many grounds.

Actually no standing is the F.A's regulations which the stewards are there to enforce, some of the stewards are alright but what gets up my nose is the fact that myself and many others that sit in y26 are constantly being told to sit down and yesterday random people were being thrown out "to set an example" apparently BUT looking at the away end of the stadium there were a group of fans standing throughout the whole game even though there were stewards stood behind them and other tango's at the tunnel leading into the concourse.

Actually, actually, no - see all the other multiple threads where things have been discussed at length. Standing is nothing whatsoever to do with the FA - it's government legislation, enforced by the FLA and the local licensing authority.

Again, see all the other numerous threads about stewarding tactics and how there is strength in numbers - stewards will not risk confrontation with large numbers of offenders, they will pick them off individually in the concourses.

I can't be bothered to explain it all yet again....

Dirk your argument may hold good at times but last night Watford could hardly be described as having strength in numbers!!
