Hoop Blahshadesrwrf I went to the cinema this afternoon and funnily enough not one person had to leave early. This is of course just a guess, but perhaps they all realised when the film would end and had planned accordingly?
Did you stay to watch the credits?
Or did you leave once you knew the end of the story?

Man Friday but leaving before the end of a match just to be be first in the queue to get out the car park or on the bus is not as it displays lack of interest/commitment/passion, etc.

Dirk Gently The Place : Elm Park, Reading
The Date : April 12th, 1997
The Match : Reading vs Wolves
The Score : 1-0 to Wolves with 10 minutes left
The Comment (from the bloke next to me) : "They're never going to score today, I'm off!"
The Point : Well and truly proved.

What does it prove, except that those leaving a match early may miss a great comeback?
It doesn't prove whether those fans that left are "proper" fans or not.

Dirk Gently But I do think that some people make more of an emotional investment in a team and a match than others - and if the result matters more to them they're much less likely to leave early for any reason.

That's not the point I was trying to make and I'd never grade fans in "properness" - everyone has their own way of supporting.
But I do think that some people make more of an emotional investment in a team and a match than others - and if the result matters more to them they're much less likely to leave early for any reason.
But who cares - only those who feel insecure about themselves need to berate others for what they see in them being "less of a fan".

Rawlie19Spirit of Elm Park You want honesty...
I personally can't be arsed to wait for 20 minutes until the hoards in row a-aa disperse before I can even think about getting into an Aisle. If I leave with 2 minutes of stoppage time remaining, I can get down the stand and be ready to leave. Therefore avoiding waiting around, and ensuring a swift exit to my car which is parked a mile away. Then off to the pub or whatever. I am sure that the team, for the 20 seconds of applause they give the fans before dissapearing into the tunnel, do not miss me or my applause. Surely they heard me during the game?
I pays my money, I does what the hell I like thanks.
Except that by doing what you're doing you are likely making it very hard for someone else to see the game. Thanks. Thanks a lot.

There is some truth in that, and as soon as I had a shed football did become less important.
