Nameless Can't see there would be too many other people interested in the site, doubt it would get permission for houses so not sure there would be too much of a rush about the thing.
Bearwood GC, presumably, will have an interest in the site! There is no question of the site being used for housing. In fact, I would have thought that its potential use is quite limited. Despite this, Wokingham BC clearly see it as an important site and are requiring considerable supporting evidence to be produced before they will consider a planning application. The Bearwood Estate, who are looking to sell, may prefer to sell to the golf club - the process would, presumably, be much quicker and easier and would not be dependant on a planning permission. Members of Bearwood GC are, apparently, quietly confident that this will prove to be the case. Part of their optimism comes from a belief that RFC do not have the money necessary to purchase and develop the site.
