I could see Howe moving on, he's very much SJM's man, and TSI might quite understandably want someone of their own choosing running affairs on the business side
Hammond is a different kettle of fish as he's purely a footballing person, no real reason why TSI would want to change that given they aren't football experts.

It will always be prudent, but I do believe what maffff has decided to share with us, that there is boardroom unrest, and that is because the old regime are pushing back against Anton and his new ideas of how to run the club. So in fact it could be SJM's good intentions holding us back.

I'm not sure Anton is even confusing his ambitions with reality. Swansea hardly broke the bank to get where they are, nor did Southampton, nor did West Brom or Stoke. He wants to see us emulate those clubs, get promoted, stay up, and then establish ourselves in the top half of the Premier League. That's more than realistic, but only if the board supports him, or he makes the decision to not let the old regime influence him. As maffff said, he is young, a tad naive, he listens to what SJM and NH tell him, and takes their advice on board; but there will come a time when he decides he knows best, and that time may not be that far away.

ZacNaloen Zingarevich is in it for the long haul, he would not be spending on infrastructure like he is where (were?) he not.

Give us an example.

The Cat 1 status is supposed to cost us somewhere around 2.5 million a year just itself!

That will be 12,000 empty seats and give TSI the opportunity to push season ticket prices up.

The Academy was already there as well as the ambition for Cat 1 status. As far as the new training ground is concerned no progress has been made on this. The plans to redevelop Bearwood GC have hit the rails and they are still using Hogwood. I've heard of no other plans for a new training ground. There was talk of a site in Maidenhead but that seems to have come to nothing.

Apparently they have until next Monday to agree, and sign up, to conditions imposed on the planning permission. Presumably if they don't, the permission will lapse. They only last for 3 years before a fresh application has to be submitted anyway. In any case, there is no way anyone, AZ included, will commit to any extension until we are back in the Prem.

RFC is a business. Regardless of the cost, they wouldn't have signed up unless they thought the benefits would outweigh the costs within a pretty short timescale.

:!:

Where does this go? Can you give a breakdown of how the money is spent? That seems a huge sum.

Is the club paying for that or is Anton?

Unless anyone can tell me what the academy cost currently to run before receiving this Catergory 1 status, then saying it's investing in the academy is pointless really. For all we know, the academy was previously costing £2M anyway.

But who paid for these things, the club or Anton? Honestly, I don't know - everyone here seems so certain how rosy everything is; surely it's an easy question to answer and put my mind at ease?

That would be great if you could get your phone to work within the stadium!

I never have a problem with my phone at the football, but it was quicker than usual on Sunday.
