Seems to be a theme of maps and landmarks in a couple of kits. Wonder who else will will come out with something like this.
Arsenal's away shirt is supposed to be roads, looks to me just like one big f---up.

There are two truly awful things about the new kit.

I can't decide which worse, the crown on the back or this from the website...

"Let’s take a morning stroll over Caversham Bridge, before tackling the twists of Cemetery Junction,
Dawn breaks, tired nurses flood Royal Berks wards, as somehow in crisis they all bravely function.

From the sacred steeple of the windswept Reading Minster, to the spires of St Matthew's…St Mary’s…St James,
We sup coffee by the buzz of the Oracle’s riverbanks, recalling summer fun and childhood Forbury Park games.

Dipping toes in the cool of the Jubilee Fountain, seek some shelter in the shade of the sun-soaked Abbey arch,
Look up to blue skies over the Thames Tower’s top, our days match the metronome of the Brock Barracks march..."

I guess it's been done by AI, but it's like the poetry you get in McDonalds ads.

What happened to the climate stuff, thought we were tied into them for a few years

Or has the club cooled off on the deal?

JedMaxwell If it was just plain hoops I'd like it a lot more. We just don't have a very impressive skyline in Reading unfortunately.

I do prefer the solid back, I know it's for EFL regulations but it is much easier to pick out numbers on a plain back like that.

Would rather white socks too but don't really care that much.

We've been in the EFL for years now why the sudden change?

Don't know the specifics of why but it does make sense for us to be able to actually read the names and numbers..

Or just recognise the players.

Detest the plain back. Awful.

The rest is nice idea, poor execution

WOW....the new home shirt is going to set you back 76 quid.....it was 52 last season. That is absolute robbery.
They do realise we are a league one team don't they?

We as Reading supporters may be able to recognize our players. but supporters of other clubs won't. After all, can you recognise all the players of the other clubs we play? I should think that this year there will be more fans who don't know our players and very few that we will be able to put a name to, so numbers on the back do help. as numbers are bigger than the name on the shirt so are more easily read. Granted the plain square on the back of our shirt is too large so a smaller plain square to display the number would have been better.

The Macron website is selling for an extortionate amount. Don't buy from there. Reading FC are doing free delivery if you can't wait and 55 quid.
Personally I'm going for the silver away kit.....not a fan of the home shirt.

I've never given a toss who the opposition players are tbh.

I'm not 100% sure that you can if you live in UK anyway. I think people have tried before, but RFC have an exclusivity right on UK sales (as they probably should).

Ah, of course. I think this was pre-Fanatics partnership for the 150th anniversary kit.
