RFC on twitter

by floyd__streete » 15 Jul 2011 13:42

.....have hit a new low this week with regular updates on how the players are performing in training. For instance, apparently Hamer made a good save and Long knocked in the rebound. Comforting to know that they haven't forgotten how to play football during the summer.

Sure, my own fault for being on Twitter but I literally have nothing else in my life which is devoid of all meaning. I could always unfollow, but tbh I dare not do that lest I miss out on the exciting transfer news to come.

Thye are just justifying why they travelled out to Slovenia with the squad

It's quite tedious though.

Agreed completely - the phrase "less is more" is one that has never occurred to RFC when it comes to social media. They just don't "get" twitter.

It's not just twitter though is it?

Their website is awful, although I appreciate their hand might be forced by the football league on this one, and their facebook material is all pretty :| too.

They really do need to be a bit more professional on their twitter account. You can't avoid the dead head facebook comments but there's certainly no reason why i should see a retweet of some spaz who's just jizzed themselves because there new season ticket card has arrived.

^this, plus text commentary is a massive reason to unfollow, maybe I'll put a #readingfc on a tweet when I do so, then you can all see that I've done it

It's doing us a favour by keeping those kids who are on school holidays etc away from here. Agreed though, they irritate the crap out of me when they start retweeting comments about how season tickets have arrived.

Only do it for games that followers are unlikely to be watching as it's a Saturday night/middle of the night stuff, usually i'm just giving opinions on games. The tweets i get the following morning prove it has been worth doing, after all my job is a football analyst so you were nearly right on the journo bit.

And simply if you don't like it don't follow :)

Popped into office to drop off equipment, chaps had left a pack of chocolate digestives open on the desk. We certainly took the biscuit.. :)

Back in Reading, saw a chap crossing the street in his full cricket whites, and it's raining. #goodtobehome

That's the sort of cutting news from the club i was hoping for     :x
