To be pedantic (and why shouldn't I) it is "Madejski Stadium" not "the Madejski Stadium".

I know, silly isn't it. If you talk about the Madejski Sadium in the presence of the man himself he will give you 'the look'. He doesn't like the addition of the before his name in the stadium title.

Pedantic and semantic maybe - but that's the way it is!

Interesting.

I guess Wembley you don't call The Wembley Stadium, but then that's because it's a geographic name.

Heard a couple of rumours it's going to be called the Thames Sport Investment Madejski Stadium. Bit of a mouthful.

Without Madejski there would be no shiny new stadium to re-name in the first place, so lets leave it as it is.

Simples.

Detest the idea of naming a stadium after some faceless corporation in order to raise a few tawdry pennies. Shrewsbury were on telly tonight, and they play their home games at 'The Greenhouse Meadow' which sounds (a) naff and (b) like a contradiction in terms. Can't we have at least something sacred and untouched by money in football :|

I'm not sure John Madejski is sacred and untouched. I'll ask Cilla.

The Madejski Stadium is at least named after an important person in our history.

It must remain The Madejski! This stadium needs some history and it starts with the continuance of "The Madejski Stadium".

If you were a Newcastle fan watching games at the historic St James' Park at it was changed to the sports direct arena then you would be pretty pissed off.

Sponsorships are ugly and make it feel less homely!

To be honest I think if the stadium was renamed, we would all carry on calling the Madejski. Much as I am sure that the majority of Newcastle fans will still call The SpoROFLts DiROFLect AROFLena, St James Park.

well it is going to happen, so get used to it and quickly. it's another revenue source for the club. tsi aren't here just to throw their money away every season. they will want the club to make as much money as it possibly can before they reinvest it and then dip into their own pockets. stadium sponsorship is worth millions. you can't expect tsi to be sentimental just for the sake of the supporters.
