Man Utd (H). Will It Be Moved?

by Steel Biscuit » 18 Sep 2012 21:21

Tickets for this game (Sat 1 December 3pm) are now on sale. But isn't that a bit naughty of the club to do this when Sky/ESPN haven't announced their December schedules? I seem to remember that December games were going to be announced on 17th September...... :|

Home to Arsenal is rumoured to be on Sky and moving to a Monday.

It's a ridiculous situation but just one of those things with supporting football these days is that the matches do often get moved. I definitely think the Clubs and TV companies ought to collaborate a bit more with fixture changes to best assist the fans but in the meantime you just have to assume at all times the fixture could be moved. We're helpless.

I actually WANT it to be moved, either to lunchtime Saturday or to Sunday. Otherwise it will be a tough choice between going to this match and playing in a concert in London that I really want to do. Knowing my luck it will get moved to Saturday teatime, then I'm really stuffed!

As they've put the tickets on sale in the last week I think that suggests they know that it won't be moved that weekend. Although the release date is this week, they've been talking to teh clubs concerned for weeks and weeks.

To reinforce this, they've not put tickets fro any later games on sale yet.

If I had to put mu money on it I'd say the game at home to Arsenal on 15th Dec is a much better candid8 for moving.

Surely the Israel/Iran war will be on the telly rather than us?

Regarding the Arsenal game - I think the 18th of December was suggested as one of the possible dates for the rescheduled Sunderland V Reading game. So if that game was played that midweek the Arsenal game couldn't be a Monday night.

I'm not sure which would get precedence if it came down to it though?

According to the Premier League the 17th Sept isn't the date for release of the fixtures - it's the date when the fixture setting process starts. So expect a couple of weeks yet.

They say they try to give a minimum of 6 weeks' notice -that would mean for a game on 1st December a change by 21st October.

This is one of the least attractive fixtures of the season for me, so I'm out regardless

United play in the Champions League on Weds 5th Dec.

I guess this makes it slightly less likely that the date of the game would be put back to the Sunday or Monday, but in the Prem you never bloody know.

Sky Forum December fixtures won’t be available until the end of the first week of October at the earliest.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Programme from Saturday's game in the ticket news bit. Clearly states Monday 17th December @ 8.00pm. Cannot believe this to be a typo although it does contradict the fixtures page which still has it down for the Saturday

Clubs certainly know in advance of fixture changes, as they have to get Police agreement for the change, so I can very much believe this one.
