I remember us taking a good few thousand to Old Trafford when Gunnarsson scored in the cup.

That Bristol City game was a classic.

Kebe is our Messi
Nameless
Aubery Boyce Bristol City in the playoff final year was >6000
Highbury in the 106 year was probably more than that.
Wasn't at Wigan.
Fulham first year in the Prem, we filled pretty much the whole Putney end when the Neutral zone was taken into account.

IIRC at Wigan away we actually had more fans there than Wigan, although that could be wishful thinking. We has an entire side of the ground, bit like us giving an away team the whole East Stand.

I have a program from the 05/06 season when we played Arsenal at Highbury and we had exactly 7000 fans there. Thats got to be the highest in our history?

Plus a couple of hundred in the Arsenal end.

Hoop Blah Can't believe the club are yet again failing to use the loyalty points to reward their most loyal fans with at least some priority for these.

What's the point? We've got 2700 to sell and it's been a long time since we've taken that many away. Involving loyalty points would just be a faff that slows down the process and makes it less likely for us to bag a second batch.

+1
Really good decision by the clubs. Anyone who wants a ticket is guaranteed and if we don't sell 2,700 by Monday it's over to Bradford. Yes we might object if Reading are being penny pinching but as football fans empty seats at this game would be the worst.

Although I take the point about having to sell enough of the original allocation quickly enough to warrant taking the second batch of tickets I just think that giving loyal fans a bit of a window to get in first is the right way to do it. It needn't have been a massive faff to have a couple of tiers to the sale so that STH with more than X points went first, then the rest of the STH and those with more than X points went next, then general sale.

I'm slightly miffed why people are so surprised by the level of demand for a game that has the prize of a day out at Wembley on offer.

Hopefully nobody who wants to go will be left out, and I'm sure it'll be a cracking atmosphere, I just think that the system should be used for any high profile game where there's likely to be a bit of a rush on for tickets.

I reckon Wigan away must have run Arsenal pretty close. The East Stand holds 8,000 and my recollection is that we virtually filled it. I know I was stuck near the front and could not find a better seat

Coincidence of the fixtures tomorrow. Noticed Bradford are playing the pig farmers, whilst we play one of their main rivals Uddersfield

Bournemouth about 1994, we had behind the goal and down one side of the pitch. Must have been about 5000. One of the Division 2 championship seasons. Seem to remember a Reading pitch invasion holding up the game.

Also over 4000 to Newport in 1985

Yep. With us 1-2 down in the last minute, Michael Gilkes breaks clear with only the keep to beat, but puts the ball wide...

...or he would have done if some Reading fan the wrong side of the fence hadn't tapped it into the net.

The fans behind the goal have no idea what happened, and run on the celebrate the equaliser, and the fans at the side just ran on for a laugh, I'd guess.

Ah yes. Orange day If I remember rightly. Also remember Wigan's frankly pathetic attempt at a pitch invasion at the end.

The Bristol City game was amazing. Great atmosphere and the City fans ripping up their ST's and trying to storm the directors box ( on last home game of season!!) Good times..

I was behind the goal for that game and my view was obstructed as Gilkes shot. Saw the net ripple as the ball hit it and celebrated the 'goal' with everyone else. I was absolutely furious when the ref disallowed the goal. Living away from Reading I didn't actually find out why it had been disallowed until some considerable time later!
