Must have cost the club in excess of about 60k to produce 30,000 t-shirts.

£2 a t-shirt? Where's that come from?

I think when you're buying 30k of them at a time you can do slightly better than that.

Cost of t-shirt
Cost of the vinyl for the t-shirt
Plus people's wages for weeding the vinyl and heat pressing
I think £2 is pretty conservative.

I expect they were done in Thailand for about 15p a shirt, and cost no more than about £6k all in.

No matter how much or how little they cost, it was a great idea and looked fab.

I was of course hoping Reading would use their own staff or a local business.

Nah, go straight to the source and pay peanuts, rather than paying more and letting some local business get a cut.

It wouldn't have happened if they had had to pay £2 a shirt from a local supplier.

Surely it's a good thing to champion local businesses? Perhaps you should give up the Hop Leaf and drink in a chain pub?

Ian Royal I would have preferred a white one, but I'm quite chuffed with my free t-shirt.
I wanted a blue one.

Maybe some sort of T Shirt swap shop can be arranged on classifieds

But at least the poor quality allowed an element of stretch for those of us with extra girth! I managed to fit mine over a fleecy hoody despite my Huddersfield mascot tendencies. Great planning.

despite my initial scepticism
