loyalroyaldaz Dont i recall a fans vote for the Stadium Name back when it was built?
I dont believe many would have voted for "The Madejski Stadium".
It was named after the man himself by the man himself.

Move on and take the money just as he has......

Absolutely right! Travel anywhere in the UK and ask someone what they know about Reading Football Club, and they immediately reply Madejski! YES incredibly smart move by the owner / chairman to name the stadium after himself, when he was a comparative unknown!
Rename it ASAP and invest the money in the team.

Ian Royal Whilst this is an obvious decision that makes business sense, it's one of the things I hate about modern football and business whether everything has a soulless (usually) morally dubious sponsor daubed all over it as crass commercialisation.

+1.

Not a fan of Madejski as a human despite what he did for the club but I'd much rather it stayed as it is than was renamed.

Sounds incredibly harsh - one wonders would he'd have to do to garner your support St P.

Plenty of small/medium companies called Elm Park according to google, maybe they could form a syndicate and share the rewards of stadium naming rights?

To be fair to Madejski, it would have been in his own interest to sell the naming rights, pocket the money and spend less of his own cash on the club. Ok, the classy thing to do would have been to name it 'New Elm Park' or something but I don't begrudge him a little ego trip.

Big Foot Is there a brand out there that would encourage you to attend more matches?

Id like us to be sponsored by The Chemical Brothers, or the stadium to be a memorial to the now deceased Slayer guitarist

Big Foot Is there a brand out there that would discourage you from attending in the future?

Either way, interested in your thoughts

WH Smith, The Conservative Club or any loan company that charges considerably more than 24.7% APR.

Stabilo Boss I like the idea.

Mike Ashley bought naming rights of Ibrox Stadium for £1

I am sure we could get more than that.

That's coz he's a big spender could have got Parkhead for 40p & a fag ...

Scutterbucketz What about seeking sponsorship from one of the massive software company HQs at TVP?

The Windows 10 Arena or the Microsoft MegaBowl would be great, but I really think The Oracle has a really nice ring to it.

I work at BG in TVP - I'll have a word in someones ear... The BG/Shell Fracking Company Stadium

SJM will still have his name somewhere. In honour of his Purple Turtle exploits they'll rename the west stand the John Madejski can't Stand.

Call it Old Trafford and get agents to sell tickets in Asia for £100 a time, probably enough Man Utd fans to keep the scam going for the next ten seasons.
