Stadium flags

by Mr Irascible » 19 Aug 2019 21:03

Having been to Old Trafford again and seen the banners and flags round the stands I thought that the success of Club 1871 should be extended round the Madejski stadium. I briefly discussed with Nigel Howe and Ray Booth who are both in general agreement. Get Reading have kindly posted a photo on their fan photos today https://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/foot ... y-16775914.
Club 1871 have great banners and there a few others dotted around such as Friday I’m in Love and the Doyle and Parkinson tributes in Y23. I appreciate there is a cost involved (mine cost £100 with bungee cords and hanging weights) but I am sure more fans could group together and add their flags to the stands. The only conditions are that they should be flame retardant and not obscure sponsor signs.
We may be generally older in the West Upper but we bring the Spirit of Elm Park! URZ!!!

I didn't notice on Sunday (I may just have not been looking) but I can't remember seeing the David Brent flag in C1871, which was brilliant against Sheff Wed.

Flags can also be left up as long as RFC have the next game and not the rugby lot.

Which won't be an issue when the rugger buggers off form next season :D
