Think I'd prefer an away season ticket, least id get to see some new places rather than get the same old depressing feeling quite as quickly.

Yeh fair play, the matchday experience is woeful in the top leagues.

Keep meaning to check out a Dulwich Hamlet match but can't really be arsed and it does take a bit of organisation as they tend to sell out.

Schards#2 Been a season ticket holder since pre millennium and will renew next year regardless.

I think if we are uncompetitive in Division One, that would try my patience for the subsequent season though.

I think that pretty much sums up how I feel at present.

Any more ridiculous/incompetent meddling from the EFL would also probably trigger a rethink.

It is not ridiculous or incompetent meddling is it though, we broke the rules and rightly have been punished

I’m renewing and I don’t mind paying a bit more. My plan is to go to every game next season and I haven’t done that since the late 90s.

The fact we broke their rules (which IMO are unfair in the first place & designed to maintain the status quo of the 'elite' EPL teams) and got rightly punished doesn't preclude their actions from being ridiculous and meddling. Just look at the some of the terms of the punishment and even more so, the ridiculous unattainable 'agreement' that hit us this year but which in reality we had no choice but to sign up to,

And just how does forcing clubs to lose all their valuable playing assets for bugger all and, in most cases consigning the clubs to relegation as well ensure financial sustainability?

It's obviously not just us who have suffered in this manner and I suspect a lot more will come out of the woodwork in the next 12 months, some of which possibly should've been addressed this season.

In contrast, when QPR cheated their way to the EPL by overspending, their 'punishment' on being relegated back to the EFL was that their owners had to write off their loans! Now that actually did help ensure QPR's financial sustainability.

Apologies for the EFL rant on the season ticket renewal thread but they are the reason I'm most likely to walk away after decades of being a season ticket holder in favour of watching my local (where I have lived far longer than I was ever in Reading) non-league team play.

I expect we'll see a cheaper season ticket now

I'm honestly not sure whether that will be the case. I know that might seem to defy logic but we are talking Reading Football Club 2023!

Should stay the same, or go up slightly imo (they won't because of the bad PR of getting relegated).

Our season ticket prices, and ticket prices in general, were dirt cheap for Championship football.

They wont increase. We'll already be struggling to get 11,000 in the ground every week next season.

They should freeze prices and offer family discounts to get as many kids in as possible.

Think it might be something like this, or freeze adult prices and reduce the concession ST prices, maybe to something like £50.

Tickets are cheap enough as it is. No justification in dropping them anymore.

Think the club would be wise to significantly reduce the lesser populated areas of the ground, North Stand in particular. Bring it down significantly and get it filled, recoup some of the income back with on the day food and drink sales. The club have to do something to encourage people to come and watch us play teams like Fleetwood and Stevenage.

Apart from the playing staff quality dropping significantly and the standard of opposition dropping significantly?
