tidus_mi2 I didn't think I'd be able to attend this but I completely forgot I already booked this week off work so I'll probably go now, again probably through STAR coaches, due to the price of trains, how is a return from Fleet to Cambridge £52? Public transport is not only a joke but a rip-off too.

Because you have to go into London, any train journey that goes into the capital is always more expensive. You'll be using Zone 1 tube at peak time as well.

Not sure you'd be able to get a train back to Fleet after the game anyway? Looking at Trainline, you'd have to be getting the train at 21:44 - which I don't think will be late enough.

Looks like the latest train from Reading to Fleet is at 22:52 which might be fine, otherwise I'll have to beg my Dad to rescue me.

Welcome to my experience of getting to literally any home games. :)

Yeah, looking at trains it really doesn't look feasible so I might have to give this one a miss. May have to eventually look into driving if I want to go to more away games, that said, passed my test over 10 years ago and never drove again so I'd probably be a menace on the roads at this point.

Also there's no guarantee you'll actually be able to get a train with tshe strikes at the moment (trains could be cancelled at short notice). IIRC, it's only £20 for the coach to Cambridge. With the rail prices, it's almost like they don't want people to use the train network.

The unions and DFT seem to be in a stand off as to who can wind the network down the fastest.

Not sure if you said it flippantly but fwiw I agree I think this is the end goal.

We're at 879 now, so about 1,000 seems right.
