Royal_jimmy Shame the allocation is such a pittance. Next time they come to us we should just give them 1800

When they are mid table next season that will be plenty, they probably won’t even sell out.

Surprised it took that long to sell out. Man Utd away last season sold out in 20 minutes because the ticket office were idiots and massively underestimated demand

I'm guessing it's because there are only a relatively small number of people who'd go to away games who were eligible (online at least) on the first day - ie. STHs with 1400+ points. I can't remember, but I guess Man Utd was general sale from the off (ie. more eligible people).

my memory was that united went to general sale straight off and people could buy multiple tickets.

RG30 If anyone is eligible from 2pm you can keep tickets in your basket for 20 minutes so load them up now ready to go on the hour 8)

Tried that this morning. Had 3 tickets in my basket from 9.42. Screen displayed a warning that two of them didn't meet the eligibility criteria (but would be fine at 10). Then got an additional message saying seats were now unavailable at 9.51. So missed out.

Worked for me this again so not sure what went wrong. Had the last ticket selected in Block 28 and had the user already linked so when 10am hit I just had to pay.

If anyone missed out on an Oxford ticket my advice is to get a tractor, park it in the car park where the missing stand is and stand on it

Might stand a chance of tickets in the home end, if you don't have an RG postcode

Looks like plenty of tickets remain in the home ends - around 1050. I wouldn't recommend any Reading fan going in the home end though.

Oxford fans will be pleased, a crowd of over 10,000 makes them jizz with excitement.

I think you’d be fine in the two stands down the side of the pitch in the home ends if you keep yourself to yourself, might have to watch yourself a bit more behind the goal (non car park end) where their more partisan fans are likely to be.

Oxford forum saying 130 tickets were refunded in the home ends due to being on the Reading FC database. Anyone able to verify this?

That post seems to be the only source of that information.

Being on the database doesn’t mean much by itself; I’m on the Brighton database as you had to join to get tickets for the League Trophy game down there. I think I’m on the Sutton and Wimbledon ones too as I’ve purchased tickets from them before (Sutton for the friendly in pre-season; Wimbledon for a woman's international).

I’m surprised Oxford opened this game up to complete general sale, tbh. We limited ticket sales in the reverse fixture to those with prior purchasing history. That said, I know Reading fans who have purchasing history at Oxford.

If 130 people who have regular purchase history at Reading have bought tickets then it makes absolute sense to refund those tickets. Simply being on the database seems a bit overzealous.

To say nothing of data protection. Seems dodgy.

Nope, but have heard that those on the waiting list for away tickets were being called up by Reading FC this week. Perhaps Oxford have opened up a previously unsold block?
