I think we'd have plenty of additional tickets should we sell that allocation - the Football Ground Guide suggests 2,000 in the stand along the side of the pitch, with an additional 1,700 behind the goal; Bolton took 3,000 up there. The ground holds just shy of 18,000 and their highest attendance this season was that Bolton game (~11,500).

Will be no issue getting tickets for this one.

Anyhow, IN!

About a 600 mile round trip, but with it being 42 years since the club last visited a real proper old football league ground you've got to really haven't you? Hoping for some early March sunshine so you can try to make a bit of a day of it esp. with the evening light still drawing out. They better ******* win though.

Away fans are stuffed in the Pioneer (East) Stand, I think, which is the one that is misaligned with the pitch (probably the left side as you look at the picture above). If there is a massive uptake in tickets and more are needed then sometimes Carlisle will move away supporters into the open end (North) terrace.

The Stand is not aligned properly because the plans to move the pitch further north to accommodate a new stand were abandoned.

Watch out though, severely wet weather means an inevitable postponement, the ground has completely flooded twice this century all ready:

Looking like 700 odd sold today. About 50-60 seats left of our original allocation.

You just beat me to it. Looks very likely Block 2 will open up tomorrow.

Very impressive uptake for this.

I would imagine ticket sales will probably slow down lots now. It's hardly one of those matches you can plan for at the last minute because of the travel involved and cost.

I counted 497 available in that block. Since they've gone on sale we appear to have sold an additional 181 tickets - so 969 total. Would be incredible to get over 1,000 up there.

It's a big game for us and a must not lose so having 1k+ of us at Brunton Park will be a boost to the team. I've been there before, it's a proper old school ground and oozes character. Some good pubs nearby too and cheap!

I've been there once, for a random game, as a mate was driving up to watch Carlisle City play*.

It's an odd ground, but the strangest thing to me was that the home end wasn't very popular. Fans seemed to prefer the uncovered side terrace.

I liked it, but I can't imagine the view is great from the end block in the away section.

I really fancy going, but don't fancy the drive, the train price is horrific, and I don't want to go on the coach.

* the game he went to ended with the mad scoreline of 11-2

What about flying, Would that be cheaper than the train fare? But of course you would have to factor in the transport to the airport or the car parking there.

Also would a long distance coach (National Express etc. be any use?

It's far but definitely worth doing for the cheap beer alone.
