Threads like these are annoying - they're abstract, unspecific and just have nothing of substance in. It's bad nobbing.
Or a stupid unfunny joke.katweslowski wrote: ↑17 Apr 2026 09:36Threads like these are annoying - they're abstract, unspecific and just have nothing of substance in. It's bad nobbing.
Even if you know what this is all about, at least provide some oxf*rd context or discussion points. Not just an image and emoji.

Ah right - I didn't know that's what the club did. I thought the OP just took the image from an article or some kind of announcement. I did check the ReadingFC site and twitter account for a few seconds to see the latest update but couldn't see itparky wrote: ↑17 Apr 2026 10:07katweslowski wrote: ↑17 Apr 2026 09:36Threads like these are annoying - they're abstract, unspecific and just have nothing of substance in. How is that any different to what the club have done putting the image on the club website in the middle of february? There is no information because the club have released no information. Feel free to discuss what you think it means though.
We met with the club to discuss season tickets; they will be announced at the end of this week. The most important information for us, is that if you renew before a date in June then there is no increase. You will also have the option to pay by instalments at no additional cost. After that date the prices will go up. More information about the new subscription scheme will be released this week - and again you don't have to take part, you can just have your season ticket as you always have.
https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2026/a ... al-launch/Reading Football Club is pleased to announce the launch of One Royal, a new supporter offering designed to provide greater flexibility, added value and more ways for fans to stay connected to the Club.
Available from 6 May, One Royal introduces a monthly payment option which includes a supporter’s guaranteed seat, alongside a range of additional benefits, experiences and rewards throughout the season.
Importantly, supporters who prefer the traditional route will still be able to purchase their Season Ticket with a one-off upfront payment, as before.
Both options will benefit from a price freeze until 3pm on 15 June 2026, giving supporters the opportunity to secure 2026/27 pricing early.
Rising costs, frozen tickets
At a time when household and business costs continue to rise, including energy prices, food costs, wages and wider operational expenses, Reading FC has once again taken the decision to freeze ticket prices for supporters.
The Club recognises the continued financial pressures facing many families and remains committed to providing value for money by keeping matchdays as affordable and accessible as possible.
A more affordable and flexible way to attend
The One Royal project began in October 2025, when the ownership and leadership group began reviewing new and innovative ways to grow the football club while also responding to the changing needs of supporters.
The result is a model designed to give fans greater flexibility through scheduled monthly payments, while maintaining the option of a traditional one-off seasonal purchase.
Nothing changes for supporters who prefer to purchase in the traditional way. However, One Royal introduces an additional route for supporters who may benefit from spreading the cost across the year while gaining access to further rewards and experiences.
Reading FC believes the new approach can help grow attendances, strengthen supporter connection and support the Club’s long-term future.
Built with supporters in mind
Delivering One Royal has required significant work across a number of areas, including the Club’s new ticketing platform, payment systems, retail, food and beverage, streaming services, website development and supporter data integration.
Throughout the process, the Club has also engaged with supporter groups and fan media to help keep supporter experience at the centre of the project.
The result is a simple, supporter-focused and added-value service designed to improve the overall matchday and membership experience.
Added value and monthly prizes
Supporters signing up to One Royal will have access to a range of benefits, with packages tailored to suit different preferences and budgets.
In addition, subscribers will be entered into regular prize draws featuring a rotating range of rewards, including:
Tickets to the PDC World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace
Tickets to the Silverstone Formula 1 Friday practice session
JBL noise-cancelling headphones and Bluetooth speakers
Signed shirts, goalkeeper gloves and footballs
A matchday box experience
Hospitality tickets
Use of the Owners’ Box for a game for 10 guests, including food and drink
A visit to Bearwood Park and the chance to meet the team
A matchday parking space for the season
Reading FC Co-Chief Executive Officer Joe Jacobson said:
“Our supporters are at the heart of everything we do, and One Royal has been created to give them more choice, more flexibility and more value.
“We know every supporter’s circumstances are different. Some will prefer the traditional upfront option, while others may welcome the opportunity to spread the cost over the year.
“At a time when prices are rising in so many areas of everyday life, we’re proud to once again freeze our ticket prices and give supporters the chance to secure that price until 3pm on 15 June.
“Traditional one-off Season Ticket purchases remain available, exactly as supporters would expect, but One Royal gives us an additional way to support fans and reward their loyalty.
“We’re excited to launch One Royal and look forward to welcoming supporters with us for the new season.”
