royalty points for each match

by royal_ali » 06 Aug 2006 19:24

dont no if its anywhere else but getting 10 points for each game this season wont take long to get points totals up.
What about all of us that have been collecting 5 points and 2 points over the years.
Club seem to want more newbies to join and go to games then us fans that have been going for years
so think about we get 195 for buying season ticket and they`ll end up with 190 if they go to all home matches. We`re no longer getting the little perks we once used too

Errrr, those of us collecting the 5 and 2pts per game will have more at the start of this season compared to "new" fans. If you are buying on a game by game basis you will not get caught by these fans if you go to the same number of games as them and if you have an ST you are laughing.

So I really don't see your point.

The club have put a greater value on going to games this season than over the last few seasons. Therefore, if you miss a few games a season, those who buy tickets this year will close the gap quicker than in previous seasons.

Not that big a deal but yet another way the club are trying to use the points as a way of generating revenue and possibly disadvantaging existing long term fans over so called 'newbies.'

Of course if you can get to every game, or buy a ticket for them at least, you're not going to miss out.

I didn't realise I only got an additional 5 points for giving the club my money upfront though. Doesn't seem a lot for wanting the club to have my money to invest in the summer.

I noticed on the clubs website today that the 20 points for Saturdays game are only available up until Friday. Does that mean that those that might buy on the day are less 'loyal' than those who buy in advance?

No, it means that the club gets a bigger advantage from encouraging people who book ahead.

Less congestion at the sales windows, and more able to forecast likely attendance.
