£19

by M U R T Y » 05 Sep 2006 23:28

Ive been charged £19 by RFC on Sept 2nd. I have no idea why. I haven't purchased anything since early July - but it's not that anyway! I have emailed, without reply, and haven't been able to get through by phone.

Has anyone else been charged the same?

Yep - it looks like I got charged £19 instead of the St indtallment that I was expecting to be £93 plus.... very odd.

Also got a payment of £11 taken instead of one for £43 for a kid's ST.

Looks like the installments system is shagged!

How come JM & NH seem happy to tolerate so many cockups, particularly when they affect the finance side of the club?!

Maybe the previous TO Manager walked - did she go to Spurs?

However, these charging problems would appear to be down to the finance people and I haven't seen any ads for those jobs yet!

Which was why the TO used to report to finance but now reports to marketing and sales. Afraid it seems removing the bogey(wo)man has not removed the problems.

And the balance for this month's installment (i.e. £93 - £19) has been taken out of my account today.

So we're all square, but an awful lot of people will be damn confused by this and will probably phone or email the TO to ask for an explanation, thus increasing the workload!

Amazing how they always seem to find a way to make things harder for themselves!

It's not only increasing the workload, but increasing the bank balance. Expect to be on hold for 30 mins plus while trying to complain.

I think you credit them with too much intelligence there - they'd be quite happy to have a quiet life so they can concentrate on getting the core stuff done.

So it's not a not a conspiracy - just incompetence.

I have noted a second installment coming out today - totalling the 90 quid that should have come out initially. Cheers for all the help here - I still have had no response from the email I sent!!!

I'm sure that it's no coincidence at all that ninety and nineteen sound quite similar.....

Maybe, but the junior installments should have been 43 and they took 11! Explain that one?

If BBC Berks can have a Forum on here why can't the PR office at the club have one to answer this sort of thing and COMMUNICATE to us lot out here.

It's not so much the cock ups that happen, that's to be expected from time to time in any organisation, its the continued repeat of the same things and the total lack of explanations or apologies that go with them.

Because not only can they contracturally not endorse any website except the "official" (Premium TV) one, they'd have to pay someone full-time to man it with the number of queries they have - and the number of queries raised again and again.

Think of the outrage if someoen from the FC dared to dodd someone on HNA!

Not if you read their disclaimer, no, but the real point is that RFC have signed an "exclusive" deal with Premium TV that says all web communications directly from them must be on the offical site.

The BBC are free to communicate through whichever means they choose.

Southampton ticket office post on one of the fan websites (I forget which one) with ticket information.

I suspect they aren't shackled to PTV though.

They look very different when written down, which they surely were?!

Much more of this and we'll be done for Chimpism!

Afterall, it's surely unfair stereotyping to keep suggesting that Chimps are all unskilled and incompetent!

When the deal was put in place it applied to all Football League clubs (although Fulham decided to opt out, presumably because at the time they didn't need the money). Southampton of course were not at the time a Football League club. Some Premiership clubs, such as Villa and Leicester (?), also signed up with Premium TV, presumably on individual contracts.
