Park n Ride Family Tickets

by M Brook » 12 Sep 2006 09:57

With all the chaos last night, the authorities, ie the football club, Reading Transport, RBC, should be encouraging us to use public transport. However, they seem to be doing the opposite.

I use the FW/Shire Hall Park n Ride. Last season it cost £4 for a family ticket for 2 adults and 2 half pints. That has now gone and we are being charged £3 adults and £1.50 kids. The cost has therefore gone up from £4 a game to £9 a game.

Its a disgrace!

Wasn't this discussed a while back after it made the front page of the EP? Something to do with the club no longer subsidising it.

I believe it was but after last night's fiasco it needs a second airing because I think the price increase has led to a drop off in numbers using what is an excellent service (usually!). A modest increase might have been expected but not a 225% increase!

Yes.

We arrived just after 7. Waited 40 mins in an ever lengthening queue then 3 buses arrived together. Fortunately, they were being driven by Messrs Schumacher, Alonso and Button and we arrived at the ground with seconds to spare!
