The Royal Families campaign

by TFF » 13 Sep 2006 15:31

Wives and girlfriends of Royals stars have teamed up with the Post with the goal of raising £60,000 for two Reading charities.

The Royal Families campaign set up by Karen Murty and Amanda Hahnemann aims to raise cash for Berkshire Women’s Aid (BWA) and Parents And Children Together (PACT) as well as other causes during the team’s debut Premiership season.

Karen, who is married to Royals’ captain Graeme Murty, and Amanda, who is wed to goalie Marcus Hahnemann, want to take advantage of the whirlwind of publicity surrounding the Premiership’s newest club to give something back to charities that have helped people in Reading.

Mrs Hahnemann said: “We want to give back to the community that has supported the boys.â€

Nice way for the WAG's to get into the papers. You know when your club has made the big time when the players wives come out wth this crap.

When will people see through this charity crap, they do it because they want publicity and to have a good time.

The club has pledged its full support to the scheme and plans are already afoot to arrange a charity ball, a golf day, a Champagne tasting session and a fashion show.

Golf day
Charity ball
Champagne tasting session
Fashion show

A cynic is somebody who knows the price of everything and the value nothing.

They invariably claim to support Man Utd as well as they're often seen basking in reflected glory.

Nice bit of fishing.
A shame the likes of Colleen etc are known for shopping rather than charity work....

“The Premiership has come to Reading and there is a huge outlet of funds for that.

“We want to grab that pound that’s coming to Reading and make sure it doesn’t all go to the companies and businesses."

Only one problem with that - RFC is very much a business itself!
