Motorcycle parking

by philM » 26 Apr 2007 12:48

Can't see anything about this on the OS..

I'm just about to get a motorbike and wondered what the situation with parking at the Mad Stad is - i.e. location and any charge for parking

Usually loads parked by the bike stands and don;t think there is a charge

No charge whatsoever and the parking is in the park and ride car park on the corner nearest the roundabout by the megastore

Just be careful of the gravel, can be slippy!

Thanks for info. Looks like I'll save over £200 next season, result! (plus I'll save around 14 hours of walking to and from the Holiday Inn!)

Buy a push-bike and save even more (as well as the environment) -
although if you're cycling from eg Newbury perhaps my point is a little less valid.

Get there reasonably early though. The motorcycle and bicycle racks are shared and, this season, they've usually been full half an hour before kick off.

I have to say, it's an extremely smug feeling gliding past queues of frustrated looking car drivers on your bike after a game!

I've just got back on two wheels too - this will save me some money next season :D

Can you get to the bike area from both the top (opposite megastore) and bottom entrances, or is there a preferred entrance to use?

I had a quick look on Saturday and I think you just use any entrance. Using the top one means less distance over the gravel which has to be a bonus.

always use the top one for in / out of car park, as previous poster said "less gravel"
