Attendances Next Season

by ddetisi » 11 May 2008 18:21

So we won't be on Match of the Day next year, we hardly were anyway. and we've got a summer of uncertainty ahead of us. However if we keep the gaffer i truly believe that he will keep a good core team together and we could be a force next year. Thats not to say that we will keep the best of the current crop but all those players will have something to prove next year and that might be enough for some.

Bright side - lower season ticket prices - less talk of plastics/glory hunters on here and in general. giving abuse to Pardew and (maybe) Warnock

Dark Side - Kid for a Quid, and Wolves

If you think season ticket prices will actually go down you are a fool.

First game next season will probably be a sellout (unless it's against Carlisle or someone), then it'll trail off to about an 18k equilibrium depending on how the season pans out I'd imagine.

I think they will. They've seen the slip in attendance even this year. Hence the stadium plans were stopped. I honestly think they'll look at keeping attendance high rather than prices. I know it won't be massive but i think the gesture will be there.

I doubt you'll see any ticket reductions. They should, they'd be foolish not to, but they wont.

I think average gates of 18,500 next season. Certainly if we aren't pushing for promotion.

Attendance in Championship

by LoyalRoyal22 » 12 May 2008 21:26

Just wondering if the bang-wagon jumpers will jump of now we are relegated. I will be re-newing my season ticket for sure, will every do the same? Can we realistically be getting 20k plus... i would hope so

Plenty will stick around. Especially in anticipation of promotion. We may not manage 18k STHs but IMO we'll get at least a 20k average attendence as long as we do ok, quite possibly as high as 22k. Higher if we're looking like promotion.

Finch won't be returning to the sinking ship. Finch has seen the best of RFC, no point hanging around in a dead end road.

I hope we still get a good attendance...I live in Gibraltar and get to as many matches as I can...let's hope there are more loyal royals around and not just fair weather supporters...we have achieved so much!!!! let's support our team through thick and thin!!!! Of course I'm gutted that we r relegated...such a cruel way to go down on goal difference!!! if we can keep up attendances, keep coppell and most of our players...we shud have a gr8 chance of returning to the premiership!!!! Fingers, toes and everything else crossed!!!!!
COME ON URZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be renewing my ST the moment it is announced. I support the team, not the league they play in.

This is a simplistic view. I've had a season ticket since 1992, but i won't be renewing. The high prices combined with the general shitness of the Madejski Stadium "experience" have driven me away.

The irony is that I'll probably do far more away games next season and will pick and choose my home games.

bit small but that's attendences up to and including the championship season. I think we'll be around that of the 02-03 to 04-05 seasons (around 16,000). As we've grown steadily over the last 10 or so seasons, I don't think we'll actually lose too many fans (see Swindon, red line)

I might update once the last two seasons come in.

i think people are averaging to low - i think it will be 18,000 - 20,000 as many of so called 'plastics' will become real fans

If we do well, I reckon around 22,000. If we do poorly then around 15,000.
I think we'll do well, so I go for 22,000.
