Aahhhhhh unlucky American nobbers. You deserved penalties there.

Showed more heart than we ever could. Just makes me hate England even more........ the useless, gutless overpaid turds that they are.

Rant over

Played in an excellent spirit too. No play acting, no niggles, no nasty fouls.

Like I said the US would give a good accounting of themselves. Just not quite enough. Love their heart, love their passion. Never say die. I really thought that they would send it to penalties. Gutted. :( :( :(

But proud... 8)

And if this is the end of Tim Howard's international career what a way to go out.

You should be. They were hungry & bust their guts for it & that is really all you can hope for.

A good team is greater than the sum of its parts & that is why England are so utterly fcuking shit & have been utterly fcuking shit for the last 20 years.

England have been left behind by the rest of the world.

Night after night of exhilarating football. Amazing stuff.

That game > any England game since beating Germany 5-1

Bloody brilliant, great spirit throughout. Ruined by Danny Murphy.

Still gutted though... :(

2nd straight World Cup where the US played heroically memorable games. They've made it to the round of 16 two WC's in a row. Only to get knocked out in aet in both.

This was probably Jermaine Jones, Clint Dempsey, Tim Howard and Demarcus Beasley's last WC. And players like Beckerman and Wondolowski, both in their 30's and playing in their first one, will certainly not play in a 2nd WC at their age. This is now Bradley's team. While the effort was there this time the consistency in his performance needs to improve if he is going to be the leader of the national team. A lot of good looking kids though in Johansson, Green, Brooks, Yedlin in this squad. Plus I am completely comfortable with Guzan in goal if Howard retires from international football after this WC like he stated he intended to do.
