Hoss FIFA rankings? What a load of cods'.

Switzerland 6th. Really?

6th best results & form going into the WC. Doesn't mean they are the 6th best team in the world

I guess that recent form, should be some sort of guide. Is there any other ranking?

this is a model devised by Nate Silver (he got famous for predicting the American elections) http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/its ... p-to-lose/

Ian Royal Well yes, Germany's second performance is not up to the standard or their first. Which leaves the French out in front alone on performances so far.

Of the major nations that is. Several of the smaller ones have looked very tasty, but you'd have to say they aren't likely to have the quality to sustain it into the latter stages. And of course, you'd expect to see the likes of Germany, Netherlands, Argentina & Brazil stepping it up in the latter stages. Should they make it.
Yep, just like Spain...should they make it.

All those teams have points, three of them six.

Quarters onwards. Semi's onwards involves 4 teams and only 2 matches for any of them. Wouldn't be surprised to see a smaller nation make the semis, but I can't see one making the final or winning it. Fingers crossed for Chile or Costa Rica though.
