I'll be interested to see if there are any post-match consequences of that dive. After Saurez being retrospectively disciplined, it's possible that Robben might end up getting pinged for it. Good job if he is!

He caught him, but I hate that swallow dive he always has to do.

Ouroboros Despite that they're patently a bit rubbish, I can see Holland reaching the final now.

And ruining it, again.

A rubbish team does not beat Spain 5 - 1 and Chile 2 - 0. They have belief. Sneijder's goal was a bit special. The explosion of relief in the neighbourhood was quite something.

+1 as happened in the first half. Made a lot of it but still a pen. And players will always make the most of fouls as long as refs insetivise them to by giving sweet FA if they don't go down.

Didn't think it was a pen and thought it was a terrible dive, but then it's Robben, its what he does.

I'm not convinced Marquez fouled him, looks more like Marquez's foot is planted on the ground in front of him and he threw himself through the air (arched back, both arms in the air, more evidence against him) and went down. May not have been simulation but it was definitely exaggeration, which is still an offence.

It was a foul in the box. Robben exaggerates

I'd be quite happy to see refs award a pen and book the player who went down, in some cases I think it would be justifiable.

It's absolutely clear Marquez's foot comes down on Robben's toes though. Pen.

Amazes me that fans call that a foul now.

It's friggin embarrassing.

It's no different to bumping into someone, doing a double twist with reverse pike and claiming a foul.

Tell you now.... If he was booked for the dives earlier in the game then this incident would never of happened.

+1

He just about steps on the end of his toes. That's it. Not even hard enough to stop Robben's foot as can clearly be seen by the way his foot does carry on then he throws it backwards instead of putting it down.

what a pathetic physical contact sport

The irony is that he hurdles a far heavier challenge earlier in the game. Any contact there and he'd have no need to exaggerate.

Er, as can be seen on this thread most fans don't. The rule makers do.
