Game over. Thanks for coming.

Shame. If that Algerian had got a shot off after that break, it could have been really interesting.

Brilliant. Really pleased for Algeria, they've deserved to score, but probably not to take it to pens.

Tbf if you're letting Ozil score then you deserve to go out.

What an absolutely great game.

Great stuff from Algeria, one of the teams of the tournament. I understand that the coach printed out Mags' comment and stuck to the dressing room wall as a motivational tool.

They'll need to up their game against France, that's for sure. That's looking like it could be a hell of a game.

Germany always so unimpressive but always make it through. Well done to Algeria, so wish they had got the win.

Germany always unimpressive? They've been one of the best teams to watch going forward for ages. They had 28 shots.

They look vulnerable as hell, I'll grant you. Can't call that France/Germany quarter.

The best part of that match was Hoddle accidentally saying Al Jazeera instead of Algeria

That "trick" German free kick...

Anyone remember a similar routine from (possibly) a Pardew side a few years back where two players ran up at the same time, started arguing with each other, then a third curled it in?

Perhaps just my memory playing tricks on me...

Lol, definitely happened on multiple occasions, I'm sure we scored from it at least once so we kept doing it. In my memory (also shit when it comes to football) I thought it was Jim and Mick era?

Yeah it was normally Parky and A N Other 'arguing' and Caskey curling it in to the top corner.

I could be biased. They always manage to scrape through, without ever being exciting. It's dull & predictable. I will be French on Friday.

Tulip, I'm going to be in Amsterdam on 8 August. If Holland win the World Cup, will we meat up?
