The official HNA World Cup 2014 awards.

Now the world cup is coming to an end, it is time to reflect on what has been a truly incredible month of football. Stars were made, others failed, Suarez bit again and a tiny nation of no hopes embarrassed 3 former World Champions and a former European champion on there way to the quarters (nearly beating Holland too ). What a world cup this has been.

Anyway.... For me it is.....

Best player: James Rodriguez for me.
Worst player: Fred.
Best individual performance: James Rodriguez against Uruguay/Ochoa v Brazil/Howard when he made 15 saves
Worst individual performance: Casillas v Holland/David Luiz in the last 2 games.
Best and most entertaining team: Colombia and Costa Rica
Worst team: Really stuck on this one. England? Spain?
Best game: Brazil 1 v 7 Germany. Just for the wtf factor.
Worst game: Nigeria v Iran bore draw.
Best goal: Cahill volley v Netherlands and J-Rods v Uruguay.
Worst referee performance: Opening game ref.
Most shocking moment: Suarez biting/ 5-1 Spain v Holland/7-1 Germany Brazil
Best goalkeeper: Keylor Navas/Tim Howard
Best youngster: De Andre Yedlin/Joel Campbell
Biggest disappointment: England/Spain/opening ceremony
Funniest moment: Seeing all the faces in the crowd after every goal Brazil let in after Germany.

Feel free to add more and obviously change them to your liking.

Baffled about your choice of Switzerland for worst team? They were decent, and saw a lot worse.

They really weren't. Thrashed by France, qualified from a weak group and a toss up between them and Greece for the biggest most boring non-entity in international football history.

Fair point. Greece, South Korea, Russia and Cameroon were all worse in my opinion but everyone is different.

sandman Worst team: Switzerland

Best youngster: Pogba

Consider this a sumptuous, fulsome, rattLOled bite - you're talking utter bollocks. Pogba was almost as much a disappointment as the world's lightest dark horses Belgium, whereas Switzerland were thoroughly entertaining with one of the best playmakers in the game, as well as potentially the best right-back of the tournament.

Hang on, apologies. Fifa seem just as stupid. Does Xherdan Shaqiri not count as a young player?

Ok perhaps worst is harsh but they're just there every tournament, they turn up, get themselves a couple of draws and a win against a small nation and go home.

Would much rather have seen a side like Iceland qualify than watch the Swiss or the Greeks get out of their groups with minimum effort or wins against poor sides like Ecuador or Honduras before getting Knocked out in the second round.

As for Shaquiri, he's stagnated at Bayern and badly needs a move to one of the club's he's been linked with.

Not a brilliant tournament for individual players whether classed as young or senior as evidenced by the fact it was a tournament won by the best team rather than one with one or two outstanding individuals. Would have picked James for the young player but 23 is a little too old for that.

Cameroon did implode , not as spectacularly as Ghana, but they had a thrashing by a weakish European Team and a comedy sending off.

I had high hopes for Bosnia, but they fell short in a weak group (should really have come second).

My favourite players were Klose and, er, the whole Chile and Colombia teams.
